In its history, Takis chips were born in 1999 in Mexico. They then developed beyond the borders and in particular in the United States at the beginning of the year 2004.
Basically, Barcel’s idea was only to reserve Takis chips for the snack market and more particularly for the Hispanic population. Victims of their success especially through teenagers of different ethnic origins appreciating the brand and its spicy side, Takis chips will finally arrive in the United States.
Since then, Takis chips have become extremely popular in the United States. Following this huge success, the brand began to release many flavors and fragrances. You will particularly find various ranges such as Takis Zombie, Crunchy Fajita, Wild, Guacamole and many others.

In short, Takis chips have a rich, spicy and pronounced flavor and taste. The Takis brand is characterized in particular by its range of chips “Fuego” meaning fire in Spanish. Indeed, Takis chips take their inspiration from the taquito. In addition, the Takis chips have a recognizable packaging that is particular to them with bright colors.

Takis Brand Highlights

Takis chips are available in many varieties of tastes from Cucumber to Guacamole.
However, if you want to discover Takis chips for a first approach, the brand’s flagship product is clearly its “Fuego” range.

In order to show you the different Takis chips available, here are the 3 most popular Takis flavors:

Takis Fuego

Takis chips from the Fuego range clearly represent the flagship of the brand. Like many flagship flavors, it is the leader for a reason: in the mouth, Takis Fuego is an explosion of flavor.
The Fuego range may not be the spiciest, nor the strongest in lime, but it has the most complete flavor profile of the entire Takis range.
If you’ve never eaten this before, the first bite is a burst of lime, which quickly gives way to a bite of highly processed, fried corn . Once the corn is gone, the Fuego Takis give off an overwhelming heat, which thankfully fades after a few seconds. Also, you can smell the chili on the way down, as it stays in your stomach along with the oil from the fried corn. Takis Fuego chips are rather spicy but taste very good.

Takis Blue Heat

The Blue Heat tastes a lot like a tomatillo salsa, which, if you’re not familiar with Mexican restaurant free appetizers, is decidedly green.
It doesn’t have the same punch and spiciness as the Fuego or Nitro range, but its flavor is a little milder than the latter. This range will delight consumers who prefer spicy crisps but not too much. Also, if you’re a fan of traditional lime chili, this line is definitely different.

Takis Nitro

The packaging of the Nitro range is bright red warning you that these are rather hot chips. The Nitro range of chips isn’t necessarily much hotter than the Fuego range either. The difference mainly comes from the lime taste, which stands out much more in the Nitro.
In sum, if you like lime, you will appreciate the Nitro range. There is also a smoky impression at the end, in an effort to make you feel like a fire has just gone out in your mouth. For real thrill seekers, the Nitro taste will certainly be highly appreciated.
